The Creative Jazz Club of Aotearoa based in Tāmaki Makaurau is starting up live performances again under level two. Wednesday night gigs at Anthology K Road will begin next week.

Leading the way back into CJC on Wednesday 30 September is Frank Gibson's NewBop Quintet with a bank of heavy hitters; Mike Booth, Pete France, Kevin Field & Cam Mc Arthur. With 2020 vision the Auckland based NewBop Quintet shines a fresh light on the key aspects of Hard Bop which evolved out of BeBop - with the ancestry of Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Art Blakey, Horace Silver, Cannonball Adderly, Thelonious Monk and Sonny Rollins.
Wednesday 21 October two of New Zealand's most respected international jazz musicians Nathan Haines and Jonathan Crayford join forces with Indian-born tabla player Manjit Singh for a special one-off concert fusing improvised jazz, Indian classical and electronica.
