Hello Sailor and Hammond Gamble at the Spark Arena Pub

From the desk of Brent Eccles...

Believe me, this is going to be shit hot.

I can smell the Lion Brown in the carpet and the Pall Mall reds in the air from here. "Blue Lady", "Gutter Black", "Lyin’ In The Sand", and more, Hello Sailor rocked the country one pub at a time. God they were good and they still are. With Jimmy Taylor, Paul Woolright and original members Harry Lyon and Rick Ball at the helm, Hello Sailor will be rockin' once more. They’ll join Hammond Gamble at The Biggest Pub Gig In The World, and don’t forget, there’s still three other shit hot acts to be announced.
A founding member and front man of Street Talk, a prolific song-writer, a formidable guitarist, and all round good guy, Hammond Gamble is the original pub gigger. With over four decades of live shows to his name, Hammond Gamble can play the shit out of a guitar and is no stranger to the pub gig scene. The Windsor Castle, The Glue Pot, Mainstreet, they’ve all hosted Hammond Gamble, and now for one night only, The Hammond Gamble Band will make Spark Arena their home for The Biggest Pub Gig In The World.

On Friday December 11, Spark Arena will turn into a giant pub for one big night of pub rock when five of New Zealand’s best-known pub rock bands will flood the stage with beer spilling anthems.
You ain’t seen nothin’ like this unless you were hanging around The Windsor, The Mon, The Gluepot, The Hillsborough, The Angus, The DB Onerahi, The Fitz or a ton of other great pub gigs a few years back.
The bars will come onto the Spark Arena floor, the stage might just be a bit lower and the sound turned up loud enough to be the perfect tonic for the year we’re having.
The whole production will look like something that’s just stepped out of the eighties - big, bold, black but not very technical. Just “turn it on” and “turn it up”.
Slowly but surely, every few days over the next month, we’ll announce another act and each time we do, the ticket price goes up, so if you are smart you are going to get in quick.
