The Tuning Fork is proud to announce the New Zealand debut of North Carolina-based Americana band, Hiss Golden Messenger. They will play their first New Zealand show on Friday 31st January 2020. The show announcement coincides with the release of brand new album Terms of Surrender on Merge Records via Flying Out.
Joining them is a very special guest, Aotearoa's treasured folk singer/songwriter, Nadia Reid.
For over ten years the profound songwriting and vocals of M.C. Taylor spearheaded this prolific, perpetually evolving group. He’s toured and recorded relentlessly, earning devotees along the roads, deep in festival pits, and across the seas, delivering earnest performances that morph from jammy freakout to private prayer in a matter of measures.

Auckland-born, Dunedin-raised, Nadia Reid, has attained global success off the back of her first two albums: Listen To Formation, Look For The Signs (2015) and Preservation (2017). She is described by The Guardian as ‘an understated, wise guide through uncertain territory’. Her success has been measured through sell-out shows in London, Melbourne, and her hometown of Port Chalmers, Dunedin. In 2017 Nadia appeared on BBC’s Later... with Jools Holland and was named #2 in Mojo Magazine for Album of the Year. In New Zealand, she was a finalist for both the Silver Scrolls Awards (2017) and the Taite Prize (2016 & 2018).
Nadia is to release her third record in early 2020.
