Supporting the mana whenua in South Auckland, the Ihumatāo Fundrai$er: Storm Backroom They Cant Stop All of Us brought together some fresh local talent to raise awareness and some money for the cause. Taking over the Whammy bar over the weekend saw the likes of L.BNative.B and Mapili perform a nasty set alongside some spoken word and some DJs spinning “the dankest tunes of all genres.”

Joining the likes of Auckland Peace ActionSave Our Unique LandscapePeople Against Prisons Aotearoa and Organise Aotearoa, the fundraiser looks to further build awareness through music. The night was full of love and people of all backgrounds – not just within Auckland. Find out more about the campaign at Ihumātao at nzgeo, and here is hoping another fundraiser will bring some more local talent to the dance floor in the city!

Music has already played an important role in the front line including the police!
