Elton John is the stuff that rock gods are made of... right up there with Freddie Mercury and David Bowie. Elton John's tour promoter Michael 'Chuggi' Chugg is also a legend in his own right.

After co-founding Frontier Touring in 1978, Chugg Entertainment was founded in 2000 by Michael Chugg to promote and tour hundreds of major international acts including Dolly Parton, Coldplay, Radiohead, Elton John, Pearl Jam, Robbie Williams, Florence + The Machine and many more. Over the years, Michael has accumulated numerous industry accolades as well as devoted much time to charity undertakings and events that include Wave Aid (2005), Live Earth (2007), Sound Relief (2009) and much, much more. Chuggi's first show in New Zealand was in 1980 and he has never stopped since.

Chuggi shared that Elton's last show will be the thirty-fourth time the mega star has appeared in New Zealand. Over forty years of developing and promoting various shows in New Zealand, Michael was pleased to recognise the positive changes in the country. He was impressed with Elton John's almost 3-hour long shows in Philadelphia and Washington at the start of the tour with each audience giving standing ovations every second song.

Elton John's farewell concert will require the venue to build a 'stadium within a stadium'.

The stage construction will be a huge undertaking that will include massive LED screens and a 'railway line' for Elton and his piano. Michael truly believes Elton will exceed his goal to deliver his biggest and best show and give everyone an 'absolutely stunning' night.
