Shapeshifter are playing outdoors in Napier this Friday at Black Barn. Tickets still available here
Here's a taste from Auckland:
A live music-starved crowd packed into Auckland’s Town Hall this past Friday, to bear witness as the mighty Shapeshifter took to the stage and asserted their place as local drum and bass legends.
The sellout crowd was bouncing from the start, as the band took to the stage to the tune of “Lifetime”, before launching into their most recent single, “Stars”. Their iconic fusion of electronica, drum and bass, with elements of jazz, rock and soul, was perfectly complemented by their always impressive lighting show and projections.
Supported by DJ Dylan C and Arma Del Amor, Shapeshifter didn’t hold anything back as they gave fans of all ages exactly what they’d come for. These guys have perfected their art over the past 12 years, getting the crowd moving with a setlist comprised of some of their best loved tracks, from across their back-catalogue.
With this recent performance Shapeshifter have once again asserted themselves as local drum and bass heroes. Their live shows only seem to keep getting better, as they saved some of their most loved tracks - “In Colour” and “Monarch”, off 2013’s album Delta , for the end, whipping the crowd into a sweaty, dancing frenzy before sending them off into the night.
