New Zealand singer/songwriter Marshmellow released his 3rd album Secrets Of The Universe – recorded entirely during the recent lockdown.
The album features 12 new tracks plus an evocative and timely cover of the classic Peter Gabriel track Here Comes The Flood featuring Siberian composer Evgeny Teilor and the stunning violin and viola of local Nick Jones.
The video for the first single off the album is The Planet Breathes - featuring Chris Nielson (father of Ruban & Kody Nielson of Mint Chicks fame) and Tom Fox on guitars.
The album was produced by Marshmellow aka Marshall Smith – an award-winning songwriter/producer/composer. Marshall has written music for the screen for many years such as Morgan Freeman, ABC, ESPN, BBC, BSkyB, Discovery, TVNZ, TV3, SBS, MTV, Fox... He has more than 2000 tracks published all around the world. He has been an APRA Silver Scroll Finalist and the recipient of many other awards for his music over the years.
Marshall is the MD of leading music production house The Sound Room and is also the Chairperson of the Screen Composers Guild of NZ. He regularly speaks on music & the film industry and mentors young artists as part of the Depot Artspace programme. He also is a regular face on TV screens on many commercials over the years and presented Big Wednesday for NZ Lotteries for 3 years.
