Then & Now, Public Enemy

Reuben Raj
PUBLIC ENEMY - State Of The Union (STFU) featuring DJ PREMIER

Chuck D and Flavor Flav founded Public Enemy in 1985, producing albums and lyrics heavily laced with criticism of the political landscape and the injustice suffered by the African American communities.

Public Enemy's first four albums namely, Yo! Bum Rush the Show (1987), It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back (1988), Fear of a Black Planet (1990) and Apocalypse 91... The Enemy Strikes Black (1991) were all certified either gold or platinum.

The rap group was inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013 and given the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award at the 62nd Grammy Awards in 2020.

Today, Chuck D remains in a key voice in America's struggle for racial equality... telling it straight about the 'Prime-time Preemo' in the White House. In spite of the much-publicised split from the band in early 2020, Flavor Flav stands defiantly with his partner and lifelong friend in the latest Public Enemy single, State of the Union (STFU) spitting rhymes and verses that still sting like a muthafuxkin bee!
